Kim Marie Peterson
Feb. 8, 1963 – April 1, 2022 –
Kim Marie Peterson, 59, of Mount Rainier, MD passed peacefully on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Sibley Memorial Inpatient Hospice, Washington D.C. She was born in Altoona, the youngest daughter of the late Vincent and Joyce (Hauser) Peterson.

After college, she moved to the D.C. metro area where she lived for the rest of her life. She worked for many years at Glut and Maryland Food Co-ops, and was a talented artist.

Kim is survived by sisters: Kate Peterson, Kara Priest and Kris Reiter; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Also surviving, are very dear friends who she considered to be part of her extended family.

Kim was a loving, amiable person, and her friends’ circle was wide and diverse. She cared about connecting with others, had a keen sense of humor, and especially loved the playful nature of animals and children. She was concerned about the environment, and was in awe of the exquisite beauty of nature. Kim left this world much too soon, and those who love her will miss her forever.

A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.

Those who wish to do so are encouraged to email messages of remembrance to the family at: remembering.kimmie@gmail.com .
